Finishing Excellence

The ST2 finishing system combines advanced technology with traditional hand-finishing techniques to create surfaces of exceptional beauty, depth, and durability. Our finishes undergo rigorous testing to help ensure lasting performance in residential, hospitality, and commercial environments.

Dyes & Stains

We use highly light-fast dyes selected to resist fading while allowing the natural beauty of the wood to remain visible. These sophisticated colorants penetrate deeply into the grain, enhancing the character of fine veneers, burls, and select hardwoods without masking their natural detail.

Catalyzed Varnish

Our premium catalyzed clear-coat system provides exceptional resistance to water, solvents, and common household chemicals. Designed for long-term durability, our finishing system meets AWI TR-4 Chemical and Moisture Resistance standards and is suitable for hospitality and commercial applications.

Hand-Applied Details

Technology provides durability, but craftsmanship gives each piece its character. Multiple finishing steps are completed by hand to achieve the depth, warmth, and subtle patina that distinguish an ST2 finish.

Health & Environment

We continually seek materials and processes that support a healthier workplace and reduce environmental impact. Our finishing system is HAPS-free, meaning it is free of hazardous air pollutants, and is designed to meet stringent environmental standards.

Responsibly Sourced Hardwoods

ST2 is committed to sourcing hardwoods from responsible and well-managed forestry sources. Many of our timbers come from Amish communities in the American heartland, while specialty woods, including fine walnut burls, may be sourced from cultivated tree farms in California. We also work with carefully selected suppliers throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.

Details such as dovetail drawer construction, hand-cut veneers, carefully matched surfaces, and traditional glue-and-dowel joinery reflect our commitment to quality at every stage of production.
